Dr. Josh peeler

youth pastor

Josh was born in Charlotte, NC in 1981 and lived in the Charlotte area for the first twenty-four years of my life. In 2005, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and spent the next six years being deployed in Germany, Belgium, Qatar, and Afghanistan. His call to ministry began in the last 2 years of military service. Beginning in 2009 he taught/preached in men’s ministry, Sunday school, young adult, and prison services. Josh even taught a Bible study on the book of Revelation while deployed in Afghanistan.

In the years since that early call, he served as a senior, youth, and associate pastor. He has also completed work on a Master of Divinity degree in Expository Preaching, a Master of Theology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Expository Preaching.

Josh and his wife Anna have been married since 2016 and are awaiting the birth of their first child, a boy due in May 2020. Anna is a licensed professional counselor who utilizes her faith in her practice. She specializes in counseling children and adults who have experienced trauma.

Josh has been a part of FBC New Roads since June 2016.

Heath Watson

Worship Pastor

Heath began serving as Worship Pastor in April 2019. A man’s most precious jewel is the woman who walks by his side and for Heath, that’s his precious wife Brook. The Watson’s have three fur babies (dogs) Gracie, Buster and Walter. 2019 marks Heath’s 30th year of music ministry. He truly believes that worship is the act of placing value on your relationship to God. Some of Heath’s hobbies include cooking (BBQ), watching action movies, reading biographies, writing and recording music and just relaxing and drinking coffee.

beverly stuart

ministry assistant

Beverly began serving in the FBC office in 1990. As the "face" and "voice" of the church, her approach to the position is as a ministry to people rather than simply a clerical responsibility. She understands that when we serve others we are really serving the Savior and counts it as an honor and privilege to minister to the saints of God. Proverbs 3:5-6 is a text that has guided her walk with Christ. Beverly and Tom have two children and four grandchildren.
